Barbados??? success at this year???s Florida Caribbean Cruise Association???s (FCCA) Essay and Poster competition will be officially recognised during a special ceremony next week.
To this end, the Ministry of Tourism will be hosting a presentation ceremony on Friday, September 26 at 9:30 a.m. at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Two Mile Hill, St. Michael.
Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism and International Transport, Irene Sandiford-Garner, will deliver brief remarks and present the students with their prizes and certificates of participation.
Karlton Holligan, a student of St. Luke???s Brighton Primary School, placed first and third in the Junior Division at the local and regional levels of the competition. For his efforts, Karlton will receive a cash prize of US$1,000 from the FCCA and a similar cash award for his school.
Sixty-one students drawn from primary and secondary schools across the island participated in the competitions.
