As part of efforts to commemorate its 70th anniversary, the Media Resource Department (MRD) of the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation has planned two road races, a 3K and 5K, for Sunday, October 18.

The events are also in recognition of Education Month 2015 being celebrated under the theme: Transforming Education – Imagine, Explore, Create.

They will get under way at 4:00 p.m. under the tag name: Education Runs This Town.??Both races are open to schools and the general public, including members of the disabled community.

The 3K, which specifically targets public and private primary schools, will proceed along the following route: The Elsie Payne Complex, St. Michael???s Row, Wharf Road, Parry Street (Right by Immigration Department), McGregor Street, Lower Broad Street, High Street, Roebuck Street, Halls Road, Constitution Road, and back to the Elsie Payne Complex.

The 5K, which consists of a walk and run, is open to all interested persons and will take the following route: The Elsie Payne Complex, St. Michael???s Row, Wharf Road, Princess Alice Highway, Redman Drive, Cheapside Road, Chapel Street, Lower Broad Street, High Street, Roebuck Street, Halls Road, Constitution Road, and back to the Elsie Payne Complex.
