Health professionals in Barbados turned out to say farewell to one of their own recently, when a retirement function was held at the Barbados Beach Resort for Acting Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Elizabeth Ferdinand.
Dr. Ferdinand, who has worked in the health sector for 40 years, was hailed by her colleagues for her work in this island and the Caribbean, and was specifically lauded for her ???fairness, empathy and good advice???.
She was also described as a ???consummate professional??? and ???perfectionist??? who strived to ensure that she gave of her best in every task assigned.
In response to accolades from her colleagues, Dr. Ferdinand said she was grateful for their assistance during her tenure and urged them to keep up the standards of healthcare in the island.
The outgoing health official was treated to a tribute in song and a musical rendition on the steel pan.
