The Bureau of Gender Affairs will collaborate with the Men’s Educational Support Association (MESA), the Youth Development Programme and the Anglican Men’s Association, to host several activities to mark International Men’s Day, observed on November 19.

The activities begin tomorrow, Tuesday, November 15, with a panel discussion entitled: Responsible Citizens: Making a Difference. It will be hosted by the Anglican Men’s Association, at Solidarity House, Harmony Hall, St. Michael, at 7:00 p.m.

On International Men’s Day, Saturday, November 19, football and cricket matches will be held at the Rubis Sports Club, Black Rock, St. Michael, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

During the matches, there will also be mini lectures on Men and Mental Health, Men and Heart Disease, and Men’s Health and Wellbeing.

The following day, Sunday, November 20, there will be a church service at the St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Bridgetown, at 8:45 a.m., and on Wednesday, November 23, MESA will hold its 50th Anniversary of Independence Award ceremony, at The St. Michael School, Martindales Road, St. Michael, at 7:00 p.m.

The activities will then conclude on Thursday, November 28, with a panel discussion entitled: Is Men’s Health in Crisis: Exploring Causes and Solutions. It takes place in the hall of The Alexandra School, Speightstown, St. Peter, at 6:30 p.m.

The panellists include social worker, Saul Leacock; occupational therapist, Lennox Rochester; and psychologist, Alex Daniel.

The public is invited to attend all the activities.
