Students at one tertiary institution and two secondary school will get an opportunity to learn more about a number of health matters next month, when the Edgar Cochrane Polyclinic hosts its Adolescent Expo 2012.
It will be held on Friday, February 3, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Wildey Polyclinic, for pupils who attend the Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic, the Parkinson Memorial School and the Ann Hill Memorial School. Theme for the session is Our Youth, Our Future.
The agenda for the day includes talks on substance abuse, dental hygiene, teenage obesity and nutrition, violence in schools, mental health, teenage pregnancy, abstinence and contraception.?? There will also be a panel discussion on the topic The Adolescents’ Views on Accessing Health Care without Parental Consent.??
