Bridgetown will come alive with the sounds of African music, when the 2009 African Liberation Day Rally is held in Jubilee Gardens, next Monday, May 25, from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m.

African Liberation Day, one of the events on the Season of Emancipation???s calendar, has been celebrated annually on this date since 1963.?? It seeks to commemorate the establishment of the Organisation of African Unity and to raise the political awareness of Africans living in communities worldwide.

The event, organised by the Commission for Pan African Affairs, will feature cultural performances by the Israel Lovell Foundation, Pinelands Creative Workshop, Iron Sharpen Iron, Judah Blackness and Haynesville Youth Group.?? There will also be presentations by Seth Billy, Trinity Family, Lion Soul, Red Star Lion and Jakelia Lewis.
