The Economic Affairs Division has advised that the public can now apply for the Organization of American States (OAS) Academic Scholarships for Graduate and Undergraduate Studies.

Applications should be submitted to the Economic Affairs Division, Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs, 3rd Floor East, Warrens Office Complex, Warrens, St. Michael, by Friday, April 6, 2018. For additional information related to the OAS academic scholarships, persons should visit http://www.oas.org/en/scholarships/default.asp.

The OAS scholarship is awarded for a minimum of one academic year and a maximum of two academic years. Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of Barbados, and possess the necessary educational background and professional experience to be accepted into the academic programme identified for placement, among others.

Scholarship recipients must agree to return to reside in the sponsoring country for no less than 12 months after completion of the programme of study covered by the scholarship. Applicants for online studies must agree to remain in the sponsoring country for the same period of time.
