Barbadians are being asked to support local farmers at the Barbados Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation???s upcoming Southern Farmers??? Market.

It will take place at Fairy Valley Plantation House, next to the DHL Building, Christ Church, on Friday, June 27 and Saturday, June 28.

New to the market this month are filleted flying fish, frozen tuna and marlin, among others.

There will also be turkey wings, minced meat, lamb and beef burgers and sausages, black belly lamb, beef, pork and chicken on sale.

Patrons will also have the opportunity to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables, grated cassava and ready-to-cook cassava chunks, fresh milk and eggs, plants and flowers, as well as other locally-produced items like wines, natural juices, jams, oils and tamarind balls.

There will also be blood pressure and blood sugar checks by Knight???s Health Advantage Club, and music provided by a popular deejay.

All farmers and vendors interested in participating in the event are asked to contact Ian Eastman, at 428-0250 by Wednesday, June 25, to book a space.
