BARBADIAN STUDENTS ARE SAFE

The Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs & Sports has advised that Barbadians students at the Mona Campus in Jamaica “are well”.

According to a senior official of the Ministry, the Honorary Consul for Barbados, Mr. Winston Bailey, along with university officials, “has ensured that proper arrangements were made for the safety and well being of the students during the passage of Hurricane Dean”.

She said:  “The Vice Chancellor has confirmed that the students are well and in good spirits.  He has toured the Campus and immediate action is being taken to have all services restored and the campus returned to full operation by Friday, August 24, 2007.”
