The unveiling of a monument by Prime Minister Freundel Stuart will be one of the highlights of a day of celebration to mark the 150th anniversary of the Barbados Landship, this Saturday, October 26.

The unveiling will take place during the Landship???s Splash Parade and Fair, which has been described by spokesman for the Barbados Landship Association, Roosevelt King, as their ???signature event???.

Members of the public are invited to join in the celebrations which will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the parade, which will leave Jubilee Gardens, proceed through Bridgetown and conclude with the fair in Queen???s Park.

Mr. King stated that the fair would feature entertainment, vendors, attractions for children, as well as historical and modern Barbadian assets. Noting that he anticipated that the unveiling of the monument would be a proud moment for the members of the Barbados Landship, he encouraged Barbadians to be part of this historic occasion.

Admission to the Splash Parade and Fair is free, and the event is scheduled to end at 8:00 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Barbados Landship will host a Commemoration Service and Spiritual Tribute on Sunday, October 27, at 3:30 p.m. at the Steel Shed, Queen???s Park. The service will include an induction ceremony for new members and the conferring of titles on current officers.
