Barbados To Have New Ambassador In China Soon

Prime Minister Freundel Stuart has reiterated that Barbados will soon have a new Ambassador based in the People???s Republic of China.

He made the comments recently when China???s Ambassador, Xu Hong, paid him a farewell courtesy call at Government Headquarters.

During the wide-ranging discussions, Mr. Stuart told Ambassador Xu: ???You have been a good, persistent and efficient diplomat for your country and your stint has done much to consolidate the relationship between Barbados and China.??? He promised that the 36-year-old friendship would be built upon and strengthened over time.

Describing China as a great country with a long and rich history and a resilient people, the Prime Minister said it was making an invaluable contribution to the world, including assisting other developing countries.

Mr. Xu said both countries had made progress in every area and promised China would do its best to assist Barbados and promote areas of mutual development.
