In an effort to promote unity and togetherness amongst its regional counterparts, the Barbados Postal Service will host the 24th Annual Caribbean Postal Togetherness Conference at which more than 100 postal workers are expected to convene.

Scheduled to take place April 5 to 9, the seminar will seek to address postal issues affecting the Caribbean as well as hold several sporting and social activities.

According to Public Relations Officer of the Post Office Cultural and Sports Club’s Organising Committee, Gail Trent: "We invite all Post Office staff and friends of the Post to come and support us – both our cultural and fund-raising activities…the cake sales and after work limes over the next six weeks – as well as the programme planned for Caribbean Postal Togetherness."

This year’s agenda includes: an official welcome function on Thursday, April 5, followed by a Sports Day at the Briar Hall Sports Club on Friday, April 6.?? The next day, Saturday, April 7, a Conference, a Leaders’ Meeting and a Cultural Night will be among some of the highlights on the cards.?? On Easter Sunday, a Church Service at the Christ Church Parish Church is planned and this will be followed by the presentation of a donation to a local charity and an island tour.?? The activities will culminate with a beach picnic on Easter Monday, April 9.

Caribbean Postal Togetherness began in 1983 when Postal personnel from Barbados, St. Vincent and St. Lucia, initiated this yearly meeting of the postal family over the Easter weekend.

Barbados last hosted this event in 1996.??
