Students of the Barbados Community College’s (BCC) Theatre Arts Programme will present: Unfinished Women Cry In A No Man’s Land While A Bird Dies in a Gilded Cage, a play written by Aishah Rahman, directed by Winston Farrell and produced by Yvonne Weekes, tomorrow, Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5, at the Frank Collymore Hall.

This production is the Theatre Arts leg of the 2013 Portfolio Season presented by the Division of Fine Arts.

It will run at 8:00 p.m. each night and there will be an admission fee.

Unfinished Women is a tale about teenage girls at a home for un-wed mothers and the last days of saxophonist Charlie "Bird" Parker. This play looks at the real issues facing a young woman who has found herself pregnant; should she keep her child or have the baby adopted. Even the nurse at the home has a secret- her daughter believes she is her niece. "Bird" slowly dies while living in the boudoir of his mistress.??

Director Winston Farrell describes the play as?? "…an excellent opportunity for the young actors to explore the issue of teenage pregnancy and the raising of children in single parent homes…it also allows us to understand the struggle of the artist within most societies."

The play is not suitable for persons under 15 years of age. ??

Patrons may buy tickets from the BCC, Book Source, the University of the West Indies’ Bookshop, Cave Hill Campus; Pro Photo Studio, Sheraton Mall and M Powered Screen Printers, Sky Mall.??????????????????
