The National Conservation Commission (NCC) will host a full day retreat for its complement of lifeguards tomorrow, Wednesday, June 22 and as a result, the 17 beaches across the island will be unmanned.

Persons who choose to go to the beach to swim are encouraged to exercise extra care. They are reminded not to overestimate their ability; in the water; to stay at a safe depth; to refrain from consuming alcohol on the beach or prior to entering the water; and not to go swimming alone.

The NCC has apologised for the unavailability of lifeguards tomorrow and has assured that full supervision of the beaches will resume on Thursday, June 23.
