Members of the public are being warned about the fraudulent use of the Town and Country Development Planning Office’s approval stamp, which is now under investigation by the Royal Barbados Police Force.

In light of this, Chief Town Planner, Mark Cummins, has advised the public that planning permission consists of approved or certified drawings along with the written decision, which bears the Town and Country Planning Act, Cap. 240, printed directly beneath the logo and Coat of Arms.

The official document, he added, must also state "permission to develop land" and includes the conditions under which permission has been granted.

Additionally, those members of the public who have made submissions to the Chief Town Planner, are asked to be vigilant and to ensure that they receive authentic documents from their respective agents. jwilson@barbados.gov.bb
