The Blackman and Gollop Primary School’s fifth anniversary ceremony, which was postponed last week due to the passage of a weather system, will now be held this Wednesday, October 5, at the school, located at Staple Grove, Christ Church.

It starts at 10:00 a.m., and will be addressed by Acting Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Senator Harcourt Husbands. He will also bury a commemorative time capsule.

New Principal Petrona Holder will deliver the welcome remarks, while Chief Education Officer, Karen Best, will present five-year service awards to staff. Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, June Chandler, will also be in attendance.

The 4-H Club will also plant a tree during the event, and there will be presentations by reigning Calypso Queen, Aziza; Junior Monarch, Summa Sargeant; the third runner-up in the Junior Calypso Finals, Emani Browne; and the school’s choir.
