The public has been encouraged to submit comments on three standards released by the Barbados National Standards Institution (BNSI).

These are: Draft BNS (Barbados National Standard) 63, Jams, Jellies and Marmalades, which offers guidelines on the composition, processing, hygiene and packaging involved in the making of these products; and CRS (CARICOM Regional Standard) DCS 54 Draft No. 2 – Cement, which offers guidelines on the chemical and physical requirements, composition, as well as the certification, labelling and packaging necessary for said product.

These standards may be reviewed, and comments submitted, online at http://www.bnsi.bb/. The deadlines for submission of comments are Tuesday, October 30 and Friday, November 16, respectively.

Copies of the third standard, Draft ISO/DIS 14785 Tourist Information Offices, may be obtained from Renate Sealy, by contacting the BNSI at 426-3870, or emailing rsealy@bsni.bb. Comments for this standard must be submitted by Sunday, January 20, 2013.
