The Barbados National Standards Institution (BNSI), will host a regional training workshop next week on engaging stakeholders and managing stakeholder participation in standardisation work.

The regional training will be conducted from Tuesday, February 20, to Thursday, February 22, at the Courtyard by Marriott, the Garrison Historic Area, Hastings, Christ Church, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.

Its main purpose is to build capacity within these regional standards bureaus to effectively engage stakeholders in order to develop and maintain relations, as they contribute significantly to the development of standards.

The training is being held in collaboration with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and is supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency.

It will be facilitated by Executive Secretary of the Pan-American Standards Commission and former Chief Executive Officer of the Bolivian National Standards Body, Kory Eguino; and Manager of International Relations of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards, Eduardo Campos de São Thiago, a former co-secretariat of the ISO technical committee that prepared ISO 26000, Guidance on Social Responsibility.
