Participants in the Barbados Defence Force’s Boot Camp Series. (FP)

Bridgetown will be a hive of activity on the evening of Friday, June 29, when approximately 150 persons walk/run through the City as part of the Barbados Defence Force’s Boot Camp Series.

Boot Camp participants, along with members of the Barbados Regiment and the Barbados Coast Guard, will gather in Independence Square at 5:00 p.m. and another group at 6:00 p.m., where they will begin their exercises.

Those warm-up sessions will be followed by a cadence walk/run over the Swing Bridge, then the participants will turn left on the Wharf Road and stop in the car park of the Jolly Roger cruise boarding area to exercise.

They will then proceed to Jubilee Gardens for another stop and exercises, then go east along Broad Street; break in National Heroes’ Square for an additional workout; travel across the Chamberlain Bridge and return to Independence Square for a cool down session.
