The Barbados Revenue Authority (BRA) has advised business entities, financial institutions and members of the public to be extra vigilant, as fraudulent cheques purporting to be from the Authority have been reported.

According to a statement from the BRA, all financial institutions have been alerted to this issue, and  advised that cheques should be cashed at commercial banks. “Entities who accept such cheques as payment do so at their own risk,” the BRA warned.

Persons with any suspicions of false cheques are asked to contact the Authority at 430-3101; by email at bramail@bra.gov.bb, or inform the Royal Barbados Police Force.
