Activities to celebrate Caribbean Wellness Week begin tomorrow, Saturday, September 13, with diabetes, risk assessment and blood pressure testing at the Cheapside Market, Bridgetown, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
There will be a special appearance by reigning Calypso Monarch Ian Webster from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Members of the public are invited to join the National Task Force on Physical Activity and Exercise as well as the National Non-Communicable Diseases Commission at a church service on Sunday, September 14 at the St. David???s Anglican Church at 7:45 a.m.
Wednesday, September 17 is ???Wear Your Sneakers To Work Day???. This activity encourages workers to use the stairs, organize group exercise sessions and take regular fitness breaks. Everyone is asked to post photos and share ideas about the event on the Keep Moving Barbados Facebook Page.
On Saturday, September 20, another event, aimed at increasing physical activity, takes place at the Hastings Rocks Esplanade, Christ Church, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.
???Wellness Walk Meets Yoga Heart Flow??? combines a walk with a difference, led by Kenneth Griffith, with a yoga heart flow session facilitated by the Barbados Heart and Stroke Foundation. Interested persons are asked to bring water, a mat and a towel to participate.
