The 14-year-old schoolgirl at the centre of an ongoing dispute with the Springer Memorial Secondary School has in fact been transferred from that school.

This is according to Chief Education Officer, Karen Best, who was responding to reports of an incident which occurred earlier today at the school???s Government Hill, St. Michael compound.

Mrs. Best stated that on January 27, the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation issued correspondence to the parent of the child notifying her that her daughter had been transferred to Ellerslie Secondary School with immediate effect.

???The Principal of Ellerslie Secondary was informed of the transfer, as was the Principal of Springer Memorial and the parent. Furthermore, the child???s records showed that Ellerslie was one of her options in the Barbados Secondary Schools??? Entrance Examination. We have done our due diligence in this matter,??? the Chief Education Officer said.
