Barbados is looking forward to further enhancing its already cordial 35-year relationship with China through the exchanging of ideas and other areas of mutual interest.
Attorney General and Minister of Home Affairs, Adriel Brathwaite, expressed this view this morning when he received a courtesy call from Vice Chairman, Li Fei of the Committee for the Basic Laws of the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China and his delegation, at the Minister’s Webster’s Business Park, Wildey headquarters.
In a wide ranging discussion that spanned several topics ranging from the role of the District Emergency Organisations within their respective constituencies to the various departments that fall under the Office of the Attorney General and the Ministry of Home Affairs, Mr. Brathwaite and the Chinese envoy focused primarily on this country’s legislature as well as the judicial and legal sphere in their respective countries.?? Barbados and China established diplomatic relations on May 30, 1977.
