The Cultural Industries Development Authority (CIDA) is inviting all cultural entrepreneurs to participate in its Pitch Programme.

The programme equips cultural entrepreneurs with the basic skills needed to attract investors, and will run from February 22 to 26.

It was created in response to findings which indicated that investors are often approached by cultural industries practitioners lacking the key skills needed when pitching.

This often results in several cultural businesses missing the opportunity for investment, which could have a positive impact on the development of the business and the cultural industries in general.

The last programme, which ran from January 13 to 19, saw several cultural businesses being given the opportunity to enhance their ???pitching??? skills, by giving them the opportunity to pitch to leading organisations.

Participants discussed topics such as Essentials Of Pitching; Product Readiness; The Financials Investors Want To Know; Telling Your Story In Pitching and Creating Your Pitch Deck.

Interested cultural practitioners should call Andre Hoyte at 621-2700 ext. 740??or email andre.hoyte@barbados.gov.bb??for more information.
