Members of the public are asked to note that a section of the beach located at No. 1 Shipyard, Browne???s Beach, Bay Street, St. Michael, (the Old Fish Market) will be temporarily closed on Saturday, December 6, between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
This is to facilitate the launching of the S/V Ruth Schooner as part of the Caribbean Sail Cargo Initiative.??As a result, persons are advised to avoid that section of beach and exercise caution at all times.
The aim of the initiative is to develop a new marine cargo transportation service catering to food security and green economy activities in Barbados, the Windward Islands and Trinidad.??The management of the National Conservation Commission apologises for any inconvenience caused by the beach closure.
