Over 100 secondary school students who have achieved full Level 1 Caribbean Vocational Qualifications (CVQs) or Units of Competence will be presented with their CVQ certificates or statements respectively, at an awards ceremony on Monday, October 31, at Princess Margaret Secondary School, Six Roads, St. Philip.

The number includes 36 students from The Alleyne School; 26 from Springer Memorial; 18 from St. Leonard’s Boys’; 20 from Frederick Smith; and 18 from Princess Margaret, who will be awarded in the areas of Cosmetology and Commercial Food Preparation.

Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Ronald Jones, will address the event and present the certificates/statements at the ceremony, which commences at 2:00 p.m.

Key stakeholders, including educational providers, business organisations and ministry officials, will also be in attendance.

It is also expected that feedback from employers will be shared at the ceremony on the performance of students, who were on job attachment or have gone on to work in their organisations.
