The Department of Emergency Management (DEM), in collaboration with the Coastal Zone Management Unit, will host a coastal walk with a “twist” on Sunday, March 26.

Participants are asked to assemble in the car park at Bath, St. John, from 3:30 p.m., for a walk along the picturesque coastline leading to Martin’s Bay, St. John. The walk will begin promptly at 4:00 p.m.

When the walkers reach Martin’s Bay, they will then be led along the evacuation route which they should take, if they are in the popular area when there is a tsunami alert.

They are also reminded that they should wear loose clothing and appropriate shoes, such as hiking shoes or sneakers.

The coastal walk forms part of the DEM’s activities to mark Earthquake and Tsunami Smart Month 2017 under the theme: Be Aware, Prepare, Know What To Do: Don’t Let Earthquakes and Tsunamis Catch You Unaware.

All are invited.
