The Barbados Drug Service has collaborated with the Barbados Diabetes Foundation and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) to host a public lecture tomorrow, Wednesday, January 25, on the topic: Understanding Diabetes: Saving Lives and Saving Limbs.

 It takes place at the Queen’s Park Steel Shed, Constitution Road, St. Michael, at 7:00 p.m., and will feature presentations by leaders in the management of diabetes and diabetic foot care.

Presenters include foot and ankle surgeon, Dr. Steven Wells, and his team from the New York-based Caribbean Diabetes Initiative. Consultant surgeon at the QEH, Dr. Selwyn Ferdinand; diabetes nurse at the QEH, Kevamae Sobers; and diabetologist, Dr. Diane Brathwaite, will also deliver presentations.

Diabetes testing will take place between 5:30 and 7:00 p.m.
