As part of the activities to mark Earthquake and Tsunami Smart Month, the Department of Emergency Management will host a series of library displays from Monday, March 13, until Friday, March 31.

These displays will take place at public libraries in Holetown, St. James; Tamarind Hall, Horse Hill, St. Joseph; and Speightstown, St. Peter, between 10:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. daily. The libraries will however be closed between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. each day for lunch.

Members of the public are invited to view these displays to learn more about earthquake and tsunami hazards.

Earthquake and Tsunami Smart month is celebrated annually in Barbados during the month of March to create a greater awareness about the two hazards.

This year, it is being celebrated under the theme: Be Aware, Prepare, Know What To Do: Don’t Let Earthquakes and Tsunamis Catch You Unaware.
