Employers Urged To Attend Labour Legislation Seminars

Employers are being encouraged to gain a better understanding of this island’s labour laws at the Labour Department’s upcoming Labour Legislation and Industrial Relations Best Practice seminars.

Slated for Wednesday, June 27, and Thursday, June 28, the seminars will be held in the 2nd Floor Conference Room at the Warrens Office Complex, Warrens, St. Michael, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., each day.

It is customary for the workshops to be interactive, with Labour Officers and participants engaging in discussion and question and answer sessions.??

During the seminar, legislation to be examined will include the Holiday with Pay Act, the Protection of Wages Act, the Shops Act and the Employment of Women (Maternity Leave) Act. ????

In the past, employers from large and small organisations have praised the Labour Department on its efforts to educate and sensitise companies on labour laws and industrial relations practices.
