Mrs. Russian has been an active and consistent proponent of the improvement of Barbados/Venezuela relations since 1999. Following the conclusion of her tour of duty in Barbados, Ambassador Russian will be resigning from the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry.
Barbados and Venezuela established diplomatic relations in 1969.
