As part of ongoing efforts to reduce the prevalence of the aedes aegypti mosquito, the Ministry of Health, through the Vector Control Unit, will continue the fogging of a number of districts next week.

On Monday, March 4, the team will visit the St. Peter districts of Maynards Housing Area, Maynards Development, Rose Hill, Benn Hill, Pleasant Hall, Pleasant Hall Development, Mount Brevitor, Clarkes Road, Mile & a Quarter, White Hall and the surrounding areas.

The next day, Tuesday, March 5, fogging operations will move to Christ Church and fog Oistins, Scarborough, Thornbury Hill, Church Hill, Church Hill Development, Windy Ridge, Durants, Lodge Road, Gall Hill and the environs.

Efforts to eliminate the mosquito will continue on Wednesday, March 6, in St. Philip. The targeted areas will be: Rock Hall, Harlington, St. Martins, Manderley Gardens, Mangrove Park, Garrett Road, Mangrove, Oldbury Terrace, Oldbury Road, Mangrove Gardens, Mangrove Terrace, Kirtons and other nearby districts.

Upper Collymore Rock, Pine Gardens, Bishop Court Hill, South Bend, Sunset Drive, Philip Drive, Elizabeth Drive, Margaret Terrace, Mount Joy, Prince Gap, Pine North South Road, Pine Plantation Road, Cedar Hill (1st & 2nd Avenues), Croton Avenue, Princess Royal Avenue, Edgecliff, Harewood Walk, Harbour View, York Terrace, and Lascelles Terrace, all in St. Michael, will be sprayed on Thursday, March 7.

The team will revisit that parish on Friday, March 8, to fog Lower Collymore Rock, Jemmotts Lane, Woodside Gardens, Beckles Hill, Dunlow Lane, Henry’s Lane, Culloden Road, Lawrence Avenue, St. Paul’s Avenue, Fairview Place, Alleynes Avenue, Grants Avenue, Walcotts Avenue, Old Quarry Road, Bay Gardens, Beckles Hill (1st & 2nd Avenues) Luke’s Avenue, Palm Tree Avenue, Browne’s

Avenue, Gittens Avenue, Clarkes Avenue, Curwens Avenue, Gullyfield Avenue, Jessamine Avenue, Sandbox Avenue, Upper Bay Street, Bedford Avenue, Chelsea Avenue, Chelsea Gardens and other adjoining areas.

Fogging will run from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. each day, and householders should open windows and doors to allow the fog to penetrate. However, persons with respiratory problems should protect themselves from inhaling the fog.?? Pedestrians and motorists should be cautious when encountering fogging operations on the street and parents are urged to prohibit their children from playing in the fog or running behind the fogging machine.
