Four Parishes To Be Fogged

When the Ministry of Health continues its programme to rid the island of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito, it will be marked by two days of fogging in St. George.

Fogging starts on Monday, November 9, in the St. George districts of Cottage Development, Cottage, Moscow, Superlative, St. Judes, Rock Hall, Logan Road, Macaroni Village, Todds Village, Drax Hall, Greens, Prerogative and the environs.

The following day, Tuesday, November 10, the team from the Vector Control Unit will journey to Christ Church, where they will fog Newton Terrace, Newton Crescent, Lodge Road and its Gaps, Church Hill, Thornbury Hill, Durants Development and surrounding areas.

A return to St. George on Wednesday, November 11, will see the team fogging Drax Hall Tenantry, Drax Hall Jump, Melverton, Bydes Mill, Mount Tenantry, Frenches, St. Lukes and its environs.

The team will turn its attention to St. Philip on Thursday, November 12, when Bayfield, St. Catherine, Marley Vale, Three Houses, Blades Hill, Blades Hill #1, 2 and 3 and their surroundings will be sprayed.

Fogging culminates on Friday, November 13, in St. Michael at Husbands New Development, Hinds Hill, Airlie Tenantry, Reservoir Road, Pipers Avenue, Lodge Road, Clermont, Clerpark and the environs.

All fogging runs from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. and householders are asked to assist by opening windows and doors to allow the fog to penetrate.

Persons with respiratory problems should protect themselves from inhaling the fog. Pedestrians and motorists are advised to proceed with caution when encountering fogging operations on the street.

Parents are instructed to prohibit children from playing in the fog or running behind the fogging machine.
