Former Parliamentarian and Cabinet Minister, Cyril Walker, will be accorded an official funeral on Friday, January 10. He was 83.

The service and interment will take place at the St. George Parish Church, the Glebe, St. George, beginning at 3:00 p.m. The funeral service is open to the public and no admission tickets are required.

Mr. Walker served as Minister of Education from 1987 to 1991, and represented the constituency of St. George North, in the Democratic Labour Party (DLP) administration.

Persons may pay their respects and view the body on Thursday, January 9, at the George Street Auditorium, from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m., and at the Paramount Funeral Home, Hindsbury Road, St. Michael, on the same day, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., and on Friday, January 10, at the St. George Parish Church, prior to the funeral service.

Meanwhile, a Condolence Book will be placed at the west wing of Parliament on Wednesday, January 8, from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and will also be available for signing at the George Street Auditorium on Thursday, January 9, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
