BRA Has Three Main Locations

The public is advised that the Barbados Revenue Authority (BRA) has three main locations.

Its headquarters is located in the Treasury Building (the former Inland Revenue Department), while the other sites are the former Value Added Tax Division, at Weymouth Corporate Centre, Roebuck Street and the former Land Tax Department, Warrens Tower II.

To reach officers of the BRA, the public may call Headquarters at 430-3240 or 430-3179; Corporate Services at Weymouth Corporate Centre at PBX 467-1100 and the Audit Division, Warrens Tower II at PBX 622-1618.

The BRA replaces the Land Tax Department, the Value-Added Tax Division of the Customs Department, the Inland Revenue Department and the revenue collection functions of the Licensing Authority.

More Time To Claim For Reverse Tax Credit

Those persons who are eligible to file for the Reverse Tax Credit for the income year 2013 are reminded that they have until December 31, 2015, to make that claim.

The claim may be made online using the electronic filing system or a copy of the form may be downloaded from the website www.barbados.gov.bb/ird.

Customer Service Centre Set Up For Tax Queries

Taxpayers are being advised that an additional Customer Service Centre has been set up at the Weymouth Corporate Centre, Roebuck Street, St. Michael, to assist with password changes and other income tax queries.

Persons seeking such assistance should visit the Customer Service Centre between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on weekdays or call the PBX at 467-1100.

Failure to deliver a return of income by Wednesday, April 30, 2014 or to estimate the tax payable will incur a penalty of $500 and five per cent of the tax assessed and unpaid. To file online, persons should visit https://etax.ird.gov.bb.

City Of Bridgetown DEO Monthly Meeting

The next monthly meeting of the City of Bridgetown District Emergency Organisation (DEO) will take place on Wednesday, April 30, at the St. Mary???s Primary School, Mason Hall Street, The City, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

During that meeting presentations will be made by representatives from the Drainage Unit, the Coastal Zone Management Unit and the Department of Emergency Management.

Use Of Farley Hill On Heroes Day

Members of the public are advised to exercise caution when using the Farley Hill National Park on Monday, April 28, National Heroes Day.

Users of the facility are being encouraged to use the western side of the facility on that day as the removal of structures associated with Reggae on the Hill will be in progress.
