BRA Offices At Oistins Temporarily Closed

The Barbados Revenue Authority???s (BRA) offices at Oistins, Christ Church will be closed for renovations from Thursday, May 1, to Monday, May 12, 2014.

Members of the public are advised that they may pay their licence and land tax at any of the other locations of the BRA.

Those paying licences may do so at the facilities in the Pine, St. Michael, or at Speightstown, St. Peter, while those paying land taxes may do so at the Holetown, St. James and Warrens, St. Michael offices.

The BRA has apologised for any inconvenience this temporary closure may cause.

FCCA Poster Competition Deadline Extended

Students in primary and secondary schools, who are interested in entering the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association???s poster competition, now have a longer time to submit their artwork.

The competition focuses on protecting the environment and promoting environmental awareness and the deadline for entries has been extended from Friday, May 2, to Thursday, May 9. Students in the age categories of 12 and under and 13 to 16, must submit a poster in Standard English that shows three ways in which his/her destination may make a difference in preserving the environment.

To be eligible, students in the junior and senior divisions should not celebrate their 13th and 17th birthdays by June 1.??The poster must contain a summary description along with the title of each poster. Posters should be 22 x 28 in size on Bristol board and contestants may use colour, black and white or collage in whatever medium of their choice such as paint or water colours.

Each entry must include the following: country, names and address of students; their date of birth; telephone number; name and address of their school; the name of the principal and the school???s telephone number.??The entries will be judged on the creativity, relevance to the theme, content and quality of presentation (layout/design).

First place regional winners in the Children???s Environmental Poster Competition from each category along with his/her classmates, will attend an exclusive event in their respective destinations.??All posters must be submitted to the Ministry of Tourism and International Transport and further information on the contest may be obtained by contacting Sharon Trotman, at 430-7500/31/55 or via e-mail trotmans@tourism.gov.bb.
