BRA Holetown Office Closing For Renovations

The Barbados Revenue Authority???s (BRA) Holetown Complex location, which receives payments for Land Tax and the Municipal Solid Waste Tax, will be closed for renovations from Monday, September 1.

Persons are therefore advised that they may conduct their business at the following BRA locations: Warrens Tower II, Warrens, St. Michael; Weymouth
Corporate Centre, Roebuck Street, St. Michael; Southern Plaza, Oistins, Christ Church; and the Treasury Building, Bridge Street, Bridgetown.

The cashier posts at the Treasury Building are open Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., while the other locations are open from 8:15 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. The BRA apologises for any inconvenience this closure may cause.

Deadline To Cash Cheques

Members of the public have been advised that any cheques issued by the Inland Revenue Department or the Value Added Tax Division prior to April 1, 2014, should be cashed by September 30, 2014. These cheques will no longer be valid after that date.

BRA Payments And Letters Reminder

The public is being reminded that in accordance with the Barbados Revenue Authority Act, 2014, the Inland Revenue Department, the Land Tax Department, the Value Added Tax Division, along with the revenue collection sections of the Barbados Licensing Authority, have been subsumed into the Barbados Revenue Authority (BRA), with effect from April 1, 2014.

As such, persons should note that all cheques, money orders and bank drafts must be addressed to the Barbados Revenue Authority.

In addition, all correspondence to the BRA should be addressed to the Revenue Commissioner. Mail by post should be directed to: Revenue Commissioner, Barbados Revenue Authority, Sixth Floor, Treasury Building, Bridge Street, Bridgetown, St. Michael, Barbados, BB11000.

Erdiston Offering Certificate Courses From September

The Erdiston Teachers??? Training College???s Division of Continuing Education is offering a number of certificate courses to members of the public.

Classes are scheduled to begin on Monday, September 8, and will be offered for two semesters. The subjects to be studied are Action Research, Advanced Book Binding, Advanced Counselling, Basic Counselling, Basic Book Binding, Classroom Management and Early Childhood Education Levels One and Two.

Effective Written Communication Skills for Today???s Worker, Introduction to Special Needs, Planning for Instruction, Special Needs Provision, Strategies for Teaching Language Arts, Strategies for Teaching Mathematics and Strategies for Teaching Reading are also on the curriculum.
