TRAINING COURSES IN FOOD SAFETY, SWIMMING POOL SANITATION AND VECTOR CONTROL

The Environmental Health Department of the Ministry of Health will be offering training programmes in Food Safety, Swimming Pool Sanitation and Vector Control during the months of September and October for members of the public.

The courses and the dates of commencement are as follows: Introduction to Food Safety, September 9 – 13 and October 14 – 18; Introduction to Swimming Pool Sanitation, September 23 – 27; and Introduction to Vector Control, September 30 – October 4.

FOOTBALL REGISTRATION OPEN

Men between the ages of 18 and 35, who have an interest in football, are invited to participate in this year???s David Thompson Memorial Constituency Council Football Classic.

The tournament will get under way from Sunday, September, 22, at the Gall Hill, Playing Field, St. John, where there will be an opening ceremony, immediately followed by a match between The City and Christ Church South at 5:00 p.m. Also on that day, St. John will come up against Christ Church East at 7:00 p.m.

POLICE PASSING OUT PARADE NEXT MONTH

A total of 53 new police officers from Anguilla, the British Virgin Islands and Barbados, will graduate on Wednesday, September 11, during the 137th Passing Out Parade at the Regional Police Training Centre, Seawell, Christ Church, beginning at 4:00 p.m.

Acting Commissioner of Police, Tyrone Griffith, will deliver the welcome and give a brief address, while Commandant Sylvester Louis, will deliver the Commandant???s Report. Attorney-at-law and Deputy Dean ??? Academic and Student Affairs, and Senior Lecturer at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Jefferson Cumberbatch, will deliver the feature address.

All those attending the parade are asked to be seated no later than 3:30 p.m. to facilitate a smooth start.
