Eunice Gibson Polyclinic To Close Early Friday

The Ministry of Health advises the public that the Eunice Gibson Polyclinic, Warrens, St. Michael will close at 2.00 p.m. on Friday, August 29 to allow staff members to attend the funeral of a colleague. Any inconvenience caused is regretted.

Community Impact Programmes In St. George

Community centres in St. George are offering a number of programmes for persons who are desirous of learning a new skill and to assist children in developing their reading skills.

The Valley Resource Centre is offering classes in the Production of Natural Beauty Products on Mondays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and Nail Technology on Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Persons who are interested in wig making and jewellery making can learn these skills at Greens Resource Centre on Tuesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. respectively. A reading programme will also be offered for children between the ages of five and 11 at the centre on Wednesdays from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.

The Ellerton Community Centre will also host a cake and pastry making course on Wednesdays from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Training opportunities are also being offered at the Drax Hall Resource Centre. These are Hair Braiding on Tuesdays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.; Basic Healthy Lifestyle Cooking on Wednesdays from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.; a reading programme for children aged five to 11 on Thursdays from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. and CXC English and Social Studies.
