University In The Community Health Fair June 24

In celebration of the 15th Anniversary of the University in the Community, the University of the West Indies (UWI) Open Campus and the Central Bank will join with the Ministry of Health to hold the University in the Community???s Open Day.

Members of the public are encouraged to visit the terrace of the Frank Collymore Hall on Tuesday, June 24, for a day of fun and to sample healthy foods, while learning about various health issues.

The event will be held under the theme Health is Wealth ??? Working Together from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Patrons will be given dietary and nutritional advice, massage treatments and free health checks.

There will also be health and wellness presentations and product displays, as well as line dancing organised by the National Task Force on Physical Activity.??Principal and Pro-Vice Chancellor of the Open Campus, Professor Hazel Simmons-McDonald, will deliver the opening remarks at the start of the event.

Labour Legislation And Industrial Relations Seminars This Month

In an effort to promote a greater degree of labour-management cooperation, the Labour Department will host a series of seminars to discuss Labour Legislation and Industrial Relations Best Practice.

The seminars will be held on the on Wednesday, June 25 and Thursday, June 26, on the 2nd Floor, Warrens Office Complex, Warrens, St. Michael, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on both days.??Members of the public are encouraged to attend.

Christ Church Parish Talent Show On June 28

The Christ Church Parish Independence Committee will host its parish talent show on Saturday, June 28, at the Church of God of Prophesy, Water Street, Christ Church, next to Milton Lynch Primary School.

Starting at 6:00 p.m., the event will feature the performing talents of residents. Food and drink will be on sale.??The entrance fee for adults is $5, while children will pay $3.

All Invited To Environment Panel Discussion

Everyone is invited to the St. Michael Parish Independence Committee???s panel discussion on the topic: Time 4 C.H.A.N.G.E. (Creating Healthy Attitudes Nurturing Green Environments).

It will be held on Saturday, June 14, at St. Paul???s Anglican Church, Bay Street, St. Michael.??The panellists will include representatives from the Ministry of Health, the Future Centre Trust and B???s Recycling.
