Silver Hill Road Tennis Tournament Begins Sunday

The Silver Hill Road Tennis Tournament will begin on Sunday, June 15.??

Organised under the Youth Development Programme of the Ministry of Culture Sports and Youth, participants in the competition will also be sensitised about HIV and AIDS.

The tournament has three categories: Division A, which is an open division; Division B, for residents of Christ Church West Central only; and an under-21 division.

Games will be played Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. The finals have been scheduled for Sunday, July 13.??

The first placed winner in Division A will receive $2,000; $1,000 will go to second place; $500 to the third, while $300 will go to the fourth placed player.

The winner in the Division B category will receive $1,000; $500 will go to second place, while third and fourth place will receive $300.??In the under-21 category, the first placed winner will receive $500; second $300, while third and fourth will receive $200.

Assistants Wanted For Entrepreneurship Camp

Persons between the ages of 20 and 25 are invited to apply for the post of Camp Assistant in the 2014 Camp Enterprise Programme organised by the Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme (YES).??The camp will commence on July 14 and end on August 14.

Candidates should have experience working with young people under the age of 18 years; be a good team leader; have excellent communication skills; and should have worked with a youth or sporting organisation.

Applications should be accompanied by a curriculum vitae and two passport- sized photographs. These should be submitted to The Co-ordinator, Camp Enterprise, Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, Sky Mall, Haggatt Hall, St. Michael.

St. Peter To Host Presentation On Environment & Vector Diseases

Everyone is invited to the St. Peter???s Parish Independence Committee???s presentation entitled: Taking Charge of Your Environment.

It will be held on Wednesday, June 18, at the Alma Parris Memorial Secondary School, Speightstown, St. Peter, at 7:00 p.m.

The featured speaker will be Senior Environmental Officer at the Maurice Byer Polyclinic, Anthony Small, who will also address ways to prevent the spread of dengue fever and chikungunya.??
