QEH To Set Up Registry For Stoma Patients

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) is creating a registry for stoma patients in Barbados.

As a result, all stoma patients are invited to a meeting on Tuesday, June 24, in the QEH Auditorium, Martindales Road, St. Michael.

The meeting begins at 2:00 p.m.

Community Training Programmes Offered In Christ Church

Residents of Christ Church South who are unemployed or desirous of learning a new skill, are invited to register for a number of Community Impact Training Programmes, being offered by the Christ Church South Constituency Council.

Courses are being offered in Nail Technology, Cake and Pastry Making and Leather Craft, and are scheduled to start in July and run for periods of six to 12 weeks.

Stamps To Feature 375th Anniversary Of Parliament

The 375th Anniversary of Parliament will soon be celebrated on a new Commemorative Issue of four stamps.

And from Thursday, June 26, members of the public will be able to access the stamps island-wide.

The stamps, which will be issued in sets of four denominations, are: 10 cents ??? Sir Conrad Reeves; 65 cents ??? The Speaker???s Chair; $1.40 ??? Sir Kenmore Husbands; $2.00 ??? Charles 1; $4.15 ??? Set of four; $5.00 ??? Souvenir Sheet; $5.75 ??? Souvenir Sheet First Day Cover and $4.90 ??? First Day Cover.

In addition, Official First Day Covers and Souvenir Sheets will be available from the Philatelic Bureau, General Post Office, Bridgetown, as well as from the website: www.bps.gov.bb.

The Bureau is opened from Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
