Prime Minister David Thompson????

Accounts have been set up at all branches of the Barbados National Bank (BNB) and First Caribbean International Bank (FCIB) as part of Government’s National Coordinated Haiti Relief Effort.

The account number at BNB is 01801513-2002, while FCIB’s is 1001059963.

At a press briefing last week, Prime Minister David Thompson indicated that any financial resources collected by CARICOM governments and possibly non-governmental organisations would go towards the establishment of a field hospital. He stressed that the field hospital was "the best way…. ??as part of CARICOM we can make our presence felt.

"I want to appeal to all Barbadians who are making contributions, as well as other citizens … to put their contributions into our regional project, the Field hospital, rather than go off in different directions," Mr. Thompson said at the briefing.

The Prime Minister disclosed that that the contributions would be placed in an emergency fund which is administered by the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) and would go towards the provision of the emergency assistance as identified.
