The Barbados Government, and not the Central Bank of Barbados, will be sponsoring the upcoming public lecture by the former Chairman of the US Federal Reserve, eminent economist, Paul Volcker. A BGIS press release yesterday had inadvertently stated that it was under the auspices of the Central Bank.
The lecture, entitled Reflections, will be held at the Frank Collymore Hall, Tom Adams Financial Centre, Bridgetown, on Monday, February 20, starting at 8:00 p.m.??
Until recently, Mr. Volcker was President Barack Obama’s Chairman of the Economic Recovery Advisory Board. He has had a long and distinguished career in commerce, working for some of the leading financial institutions in the United States, and had previously served as Chairman of the US Federal Reserve for eight years under former Presidents Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan.
Persons interested in attending the lecture should contact the Central Bank of Barbados at telephone 436-6870 Ext. 6612.
