Governor General Sir Elliott Belgrave

Noted Barbadian author and cultural pioneer, Dr. Cynthia Wilson, presented Governor General Sir Elliott Belgrave with a copy of her most recent book, Listen to the Hills, today at Government House, Government Hill, St. Michael.

The "fictionalised" memoir chronicles two years in the life of a Barbadian young woman, Cyrilene Sargeant, who has just left secondary school to attend the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus on a scholarship.

Dr. Wilson was instrumental in establishing the National Independence Festival of Creative Arts (NIFCA) in 1973, and has been representing Barbados and the cultural arts on national, regional and international boards, committees and fora in dance, theatre and tourism.
