The Index of Industrial Production for June 2014 was 78.3, indicating that the output level grew by 1.8 per cent compared with the previous month and increased by 2.0 per cent when compared with June 2013.

The Manufacturing Division increased by 4.2 per cent compared with May and increased by 2.2 per cent compared with one year ago.

The Mining and Quarrying Division fell by 5.1 per cent compared with May 2014 and decreased by 11.8 per cent when compared with June 2013.??The Electricity, Gas and Water Index decreased by 1.8 per cent below that of the previous month.

Manufacturing Index

Within the Manufacturing Division, increases were recorded for Wearing Apparel by 843.5 per cent; Non-Metallic Mineral Products by 29.6 per cent; Electronic Components by 9.9 per cent; Other Manufacturing by 4.7 per cent; and the Food Division by 3.6 per cent when compared with the previous month.

Decreases were recorded for Beverages and Tobacco by 11.5 per cent; Wooden Furniture by 6.9 per cent; and Chemicals by 4.0 per cent when compared with May 2014.

Mining and Quarrying

The Mining Sub-Division decreased by 2.6 per cent compared with the previous month and fell by 11.5 per cent compared with one year ago. The Quarrying Sub-Division decreased by 6.2 per cent compared with that of the previous month.

Electricity, Gas and Water

Within the Electricity, Gas and Water Division, declines were recorded, below that of the previous month, for Natural Gas by 5.4 per cent; Electricity by 2.2 per cent; and Water by 0.4 per cent.
