Forty-five iPads will be presented to several schools across the island next week.

This is because of a collaborative effort by Apple Corporation, Khan Academy and a prestigious high school, all in the United States.

These items will be presented on Wednesday, November 23, in the auditorium of the Media Resource Department at the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Elsie Payne Complex, Constitution Road, St. Michael.

Among the schools that will receive iPads are: People’s Cathedral, Ellerton Primary and Ellerton Annex, as well as the Maria Holder Nursery Schools at Sharon, St. Thomas and Gall Hill, Christ Church.

The event starts at 9:30 a.m. and will be addressed by Parliamentary Secretary in the Education Ministry, Senator Harry Husbands.

Representatives of the donors, including the father and son team of Frederick and Alex Eiden, who were responsible for bringing the Khan Academy Mathematics Initiative to Barbados, will be in attendance.
