One of this island’s most outstanding citizens, who has journeyed from sportsman to politician to Reverend, has now officially added the accolade of Knight Bachelor for service to sport and the community to his other list of accomplishments.?? Sir Wesley Winfield Hall, in a brief ceremony at Government House was today?? bestowed the honour of Knight Bachelor in this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours, by Governor General, Sir Elliott Belgrave.

In addition to the former West Indies fast bowler, others who received awards were Reverend Oscar Holman Millar for services to the Methodist Church, education and the community; and Dr. George Lincoln Reid, for services to the financial sector.?? They were the recipients of the Commander of the Order of The British Empire (CBE).

Recipients of the Order of The British Empire (OBE) included:?? Senator Dr. Frances Louise Chandler for services to agriculture; and Hensley Henderson Robinson, for public service in the area of electoral process.

Members of The Order of The British Empire (MBE) are: Collis Earl Blackman, for services to labour relations; and David Lionel Harding, for services to the maritime industry.
