???Bring your blanket and come!’

This is the message the public has been encouraged to embrace for the Love, Poetry and Song concert, which will be held Saturday, February 16 at Ilaro Court, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

The concert, which had its inaugural year in 2012, was conceptualised to be an effective, alternate medium of sharing important messages about HIV and AIDS, with artistes using poetry, song and other art forms to share relevant themes with the audience.

This year’s line-up will include spoken word artistes Passion Poet, Lynelle ???Larix’ Russell, Blake Broomes, Daveny Ellis, Dj Simmons and Adrian Green; dance and theatrical performances from N3W MOTION and Yardie Boy Theatre; and vocals from Erika Alexei, Fantom Dundeal, Marisa Lindsay, Simon Pipe and Hal Linton.

All proceeds from the $10 admission and two non-perishable goods will be donated to the HIV Food Bank.?? The overwhelming public support for last year’s concert saw $5000 and five barrels of food donated to the Bank, which not only provides access to food for its clients, but counselling and nutritional services as well.??

Barbados was the first country in the region to establish a dedicated HIV Food Bank, which has been in operation since 2009.????????????????
