Cultural exchanges between Barbados and Malaysia could lead to enhanced relations in trade and tourism.

 

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and International Business, Christopher Sinckler, said today, during a cortesy call by Malaysian High Commissioner, Ramlan Kimin, at his

Culloden Road

office.

 

Acknowledging that there were few cultural ties between the two countries, Minister Sinckler said they should capitalise on their similar ideals in an effort to strengthen bilateral relations.

 

Ambassador Kimin agreed, and expressed a desire to see Barbados and Malaysia enter into more areas of technical cooperation such as technology and investment.

 

Barbados and Malaysia established diplomatic relations on April 10, 1992.
